Where do you make your CP?

The door in the picture is our front door. We have two front doors, but the first one is inside a glassed in patio at the front of the house. We thought that the people coming to the door were trying to help us find Jesus and we both just got home and were trying to rest and eat dinner. When we...

OMH Worries - Several of questions

Still too soft to cut, but so far so good. Practically fell out of the mold.

    weighing out ingredients

Since my scale doesn't do any decimal places, I always work in grams. With grams, you can get more accurate than ounces. Especially if you are making small recipes.

Where do you make your CP?

This is a very sore subject in my house right now. He has been in the process of building my shelves in the closet for almost two months. Until then my "soaping supply area" is below. Take note of the giant pile of crap I want to use for mold later, next to the five gallon buckets full of...

    weighing out ingredients

I am very new, so until someone wiser comes along, this is what I do. My scale doesn't measure in tenths. Just solid grams. When I am measuring lye, I round down, unless it is a very high tenth (.9 ish) and then I just get to the grams I need and ass a tiny bit extra, but not enough to make...

Trying the soap recipe Hazel gave me

I am afraid, at this point (because it has been a few days), they would question my motives, but I was in a really big hurry to get out of there. I can understand the ignorance behind the lard comments, even from people who aren't vegans (side note, before anyone attacks me: I don't think it is...

Where do you make your CP?

Oh lsg, so jealous!! If I had that much space, I can guarantee my hubby wouldn't have given me the bogus deal on the money.

OMH Worries - Several of questions

I'm sorry, I must have read the wrong line on the printout when typing it up. I was trying to do it fast, as if something could be done to fix it now. The Palm should have been 35%, not 40%. So in the future, I should take the amount of honey I am using out of the water amount? And If so...

OMH Worries - Several of questions

I have an entire list of things I want to make and a "grocery list" of things I need to pick up in order to do it. Every time I pick up something else I use it because I have no patience and make something else. I figure that as much as I study, might as well do some crash course as well.

OMH Worries - Several of questions

It has been in the freezer for an hour now and while I am sure it is still liquid in the center, it really seems to be firming up now. Kind of hard, from what I can tell, so maybe it will be okay. I would think if it were going to volcano it would be doing it already.

OMH Worries - Several of questions

Trying the soap recipe Hazel gave me

Thank you!! I have five kids and with that many kids, you don't have time to baby them all. At least not in the way that most people do. All of the ones that are walking are in honor classes and none have ever missed the A honor roll in school. My oldest is 9 and he just finished a lego set...

OMH Worries - Several of questions

I probably should have mentioned that I used powdered GM, but I added the powder with the oatmeal and honey, right after pouring in the lye water and lightly stirring. I haven't found goat's milk here yet that isn't powdered, but I was also worried about burning the milk so I was okay with...

Alkanet root messing with my head

Where do you make your CP?

I live in a small apartment and we are lucky enough to have a spot where I can store everything, but I actually do my measuring in the kitchen, my lye mixing outside and my actual soaping in my glassed in patio. I can't imagine that other than storing oils there would be that much difference in...

OMH Worries - Several of questions

Since my peacock swirl came out pretty, despite being a total bomb in the peacock swirl department, I decided to just go ahead and throw caution to the wind and make an Oatmeal, Goat's Milk and Honey soap with the honey we got from the downed tree a couple weeks ago. I put the recipe through...

    WSP?? Good supplier?

I understand. I saw it and didn't mind contributing, but since I normally research where my money goes, I do think it should be more prominent and an opt in thing, rather than opt out.

    WSP?? Good supplier?

Have you tried calling them? Maybe if confronted politely in such a way that they can't just put the email off then they would have to answer.

    New Soaps, first colors/swirls

Those are beautiful! I wouldn't be disappointed in any of them! Well done!

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Thank you everyone!! I can't believe that I tried it at all, lol. I figured, it's just running a stick or something thru soap lines, how hard could it be? I really wanted to make it work, but once I got started, it occurred to me that in a log mold, it would only be pretty peacock swirl on the...
