    Let's talk Coffee!!!

4x coffee would be four times the amount of coffee that one would use if they were making it to drink and running it through once which produces a very strong and very black coffee.

    Laundry Bar

I have been looking at different thoughts and ideas for laundry bars. I guess I should define what I mean by laundry bar, by the term I am talking about a bar that will be shredded then ground and blended with borax, washing soda, etc to make a laundry powder. So here is my question, I have...

    Let's talk Coffee!!!

I use my base soap recipe and make it as I would any other cold process soap. At light trace I add almond fragrance oil to the entire batch. This fragrance oil when cured will be the same color it was when poured which is the white in the pic. I then split the batch in half and add fresh...

    Let's talk Coffee!!!

I make quite a bit of soap with coffee and have tried a variety of ways. I have tried brewing coffee and freezing it and using that in place of water vs simply using water, what I have found is I get the same results if I simply add fine ground coffee at trace with my fragrance oil as I do if I...

    Hi :)

So I looked at these earlier while at work on my phone and thought I liked them, now that I have pulled them up on my laptop and looked at them (larger pictures for my old eyes) I have come to the conclusion that I am now certain that I like them. Beautiful work!

    Eucalyptus Hanger Swirls

I do use a multi wire cutter and I am taking steps to try to keep air bubbles down, stick blenders certainly create plenty of air bubbles

    Issues Making Cold Process

I agree with grayceworks, that temp is awful high, I like to soap at 85-100 degrees. My other thought is in the fragrance oil type and quantity, especially at those temps.

Those are gorgeous, the white specks help give them character! Of course I say that because I struggle with the same white specks!

Wood mold in freezer? Please help with details

If you are afraid the wood will retain heat take one of the wood molds and drill holes in it. When you line the mold the holes will not be an issue and the holes should prevent the mold from retaining heat.

    Chocolate

I had at least one person ask that I post additional pictures to show the color change as it cures. Here it is with just a little over a week of cure time on it and the colors have already started to change a bit. I will add more later as I still expect the light to darken a bit more and the...

Moon Bath, I'm not sure what it is called but I did it by dropping alternate colors by spoonfuls from 6-8 inches high.

    Inexpensive Soap?

One of my favorite soaps is one of my cheapest to make, about 75% lard and 25% coconut oil. I get lard from a local meat packer for around $.80/lb and as far as I am concerned, it is hard to beat lard in soap!

I built my molds, not much to them, one 4 foot 1x6 and 2 feet of 1x4 with 4 bolts with wing nuts and life is good. Built it for under $10. As for oils, I use a lot of lard and I get my lard from a local meat packer for $.80/lb and it is some of the best I have found. Castor oil, I love it...

    Chocolate

Seven, I used Brambleberry's "dark rich chocolate" FO. I added unsweetened powdered cocoa for the tan color and black oxide powder for the black. I've had numerous people say it smells like brownie batter and of course I would have to agree with them. The FO also behaves very well in CP, it...

    Chocolate

This is a chocolate soap that I poured yesterday. Loving the colors. The white will go tan, the tan will darken and the black, well it is what it is.

    A Couple of Today's Cuts

Kazmi, this is my first go around with the beach fragrance. It smells much better in soap than it does straight out of the bottle. It isn't what I was looking for but it does have a nice fragrance. It is pretty forward with the melon tones and I guess I don't really associate that melon scent...

    A Couple of Today's Cuts

I thought I would share these as I was really pleased with how they turned out. Not to mention I just upgraded to a wire cutter and absolutely love the nice perfect cuts. This is a coconut lemongrass, I went with white yellow and green, the colors of coconut, lemon and grass This is...

    help!soap not drying out??

Another thing I would recommend is getting yourself a digital scale if you don't already have one and do everything by weight. I prefer to do everything in grams so I know I am being precise in my measurements. I couldn't help but notice part of the recipe in ml and part in grams. That would...
