    Jewelweed Soap

Jewelweed extract is available. I remember doing a google search earlier and finding a source. Don't do any hot processing here. Have plenty of CP oatmeal and honey to work with.

    Jewelweed Soap

Jewelweed is reported to dry out poison ivy and Burt's Bees makes a poison ivy soap. I want to make my own.

    Jewelweed Soap

Hubby is pressing me to make a soap with jewelweed extract. We live on the farm and poison ivy is often a problem. I want to rebatch an unscented oatmeal and honey soap, adding the jewelweed extract during melt. Maybe 1/4 cup per 2 lbs soap. Tea Tree oil feels like the right EO. Anyone care...

Happy New Year Everybody. I recently fell in love with a sample and now I can't get the scent. Does anyone still use Elixer of Love? It is a Caswell Massey dupe. Thanks, Carol

    Cinnamon sticks

I used to buy a wonderful cinnamon stick FO locally. They went out of business and my customers want more. The one I was buying discolored the soap yellow and did not accelerate. Anyone with ideas for a similar product? Many thanks

    Fresh lemon balmI

I just got offered a lot of fresh lemon balm for using in soap. Is this useful in cold process or does the lye monster turn it dark. Can I use it dry? Need to reply to the free offer. Thanks much, Carol

Thanks. Now how are they rated? I hate to kiss a lot of frogs to get one prince. I only make this once a year so I need to nail it the first time.

    ISO cucumber melon

Several years ago I bought cucumber melon from Camden Grey. I don't like their essential oils, but might try this again. Is there a better choice for the cuke melon? Many thanks.

    Puckered cp

I soap between 80 and 90 most of the time. I think the stack is really the problem. Do I want to continue to gel? What are the advantages if any? Thanks, Carol

    Puckered cp

Hey All, I gel all my soaps (don't know why). For the sake of space I stack my molds three deep over the soap making day. Many of them pucker badly on top. Am I too hot? Does gel matter? What would you do? Thanks, Carol

    Water question

Our water comes from a spring on our property. I just started a soap using it since we have nothing but plastic pipes, no chlorine/fluorine or other yuckies. I'll let you know if there is any difference.

    Water question

I learned to make soap using distilled water. It is a pain to have to buy water. Wouldn't tap water be okay? It couldn't possible upset the pH that much.

    Trace speed

my reasoning for the trace speed post was the hope of slowing down from some FOs. Tried a new formula today with local cold pressed canola (15%) and a rabbit fast FO. I had lots of time for swirling.

    Trace speed

Hey Everybody. I know some FOs will speed trace. I've used the same temps, etc. I wondered if soaping temps had any effect? I really don't remember. Thanks, C
