    So happy, second attempt yielded!

Happy to report it seems to have neutralized over the last few weeks, which is great considering it's part of my Christmas gift baskets for this year.

    So happy, second attempt yielded!

and it looks great, a lovely golden color But I lacked any PH testing supplies...so I tried some on my hand (risky I know :silent:) It appears to dry out my hand and there is a tingly itching sensation for a bit, did I not cook it all the way through I really wanna know.

A few projects I fit into a short time.

They are cut small as I plan to give them out as gifts for christmas time, my very first time using all of these ingredients so I am very happy they turned out decent :D Summer is fading and I am kinda sad I didnt get some stuff from the beach to make a kinda mariner style soap, oh well there...

A few projects I fit into a short time.

    A question on EOs

I didn't superfat at all, but I am willing to believe it might be discolouration. Sadly I don't have photos of the original, I could post pictures of it now but they were already cut to remove the layer with the yellowish tinged spots.

    A question on EOs

Sorry yeah .8 ppo, sorry to give you a heart attack at whatever time of day it is for you xD Nope it happened upon unmolding, I cut a layer undearneath though and it was pure as could be.

    A question on EOs

I used 8 ounces per lb because I see a lot of written work saying that is a good number The EO's I use come from a Canadian supplier, the "natural path herb company." My current recipe is 15% Castor 15% Coconut 35% OO 35% Canola Oil I also had to shave the bars, they DOS'd on me.

    A question on EOs

I've been changing up my recipe constantly, but I sort of put balance of oils on the backburner and was excited to try EO's so I went ahead and added some lavender and ylang ylang to my 4lb batch of CP. The thing is I don't think I liked it very much, it gave the soaps a greasy feel and you...

    Fresh batch concern

So I made a batch recently, had a little too much and decided to pour the "dregs" into a silicone baking mold. My concern is that I let it sit overnight in a cold basement and it has been maybe a week but I think that there may still be lye present in the bar because all I did was wrap the top...

    Omg, don't do it!

I had a friend with juvenile diabetes and a very addictive personality, I had to show him all the things smoking does to your body and what happens to your diabetic body without the proper upkeep...it wasn't pretty to say the least.

    Is this vendor trustworthy!

I was thinking of ordering from Essential Wholesale Labs. Can anyone vouch for them I would really like to know

    Seizing

Luckily I know a bout a lot of fragrance oils being accelerants, so I was going to avoid adding the EO's till I had reached a point of heavy trace. Something I noticed was that the lavender bars of someone I know had a trace of blue in them, can you get blue from lavender or did she add a...

    Seizing

It started getting really thick before I even added any EO's, the EO's I was using were Lavender and Ylang Ylang but again I didn't add them until I noticed that it was getting really thick really fast. The only thing I can think of other than oils being the issue is the temp, both oil and...

    Seizing

So I made a batch on friday and during the stick blending portion of it I ended up having my soap seize into a "Gloppy chunky" like mixture that I hastily threw into my mold for fear it would seize any further. Does anyone have an idea as to why It may have seized. My Cold Process ingredients...

I made a batch of castile soap and a some olive oil/coconut oil and I heard olive oil takes longer to cure. I am wondering how much longer, does anyone have a clue?

    acne soap recipe

They key word here is reputed, aside from changing the smell and color of the soaps we arent really sure how many of the healing properties are retained from essential oils after you add them during trace because they are plenty of chemical variables involved and not alot of studies spouting...

    Lining molds

Eventually that woods gonna start to break down and you risk getting wood fibers into your soap, it's fine as long as you dont mind buying/making new molds I guess.

    Lining molds

It's a wooden mold, you have to line them or else the lye degrades them.
