    baby balm/ diaper cream?

Thanks MichelleC, Tardismama and Frigga! I am very intrigued by that whipped butter idea. Next time I will have to try it. My current forumla is getting too hard now that its cooling off outside. I definitely would prefer something creamier! I, too, think I may be too green to reverse...

    Clay soap is awsome!

oh yay! Glad you like it. i just did a shaving bar this weekend with bentonite clay. I agree, not much to look at, but the little chunk I tested when I took it out of the mold already felt luscious and it hasn't even really cured yet. Can't wait until its done! And to answer a PP, I put it...

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

Actually lanolin isn't so good with cloth diapers. A friend of mine ended up having to strip (totally rinse rinse rinse, wash wash wash) lanolin out of her dipes after just washing them with one of her wool covers once... and thats just the natural lanolin from wool. Stripping can be done of...

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

Thank you! I have seen some diaper creams with butters and I was wondering how good they would be. I have some cocoa butter, so I think its definitely worth a try. I'm currently infusing coconut oil with calendula, lavender and dandelion. If I added some cocoa butter do you think that would...

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

Thank you! I had no idea, I've seen MANY MANY diaper creams/ cloth wipe solutions that include TTO. I had no idea I shouldn't include it with that. My own dd is 2 years old so it isn't an issue for me right now, but its definitely good information I haven't found in the cloth diapering community.

I find teh creams leak through. They're not very good at protecting the fabric.

    Coconut Milk Soap

That sounds awesome! I would think coconut milk + coconut oil would be heavenly. I will say when I did goat milk soap I put the milk (pre-measured and frozen) in with the water when you mixed it with lye instead of at trace with the other additives. It turned into a super yummy soap.

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

A lot of things in regular diaper creams aren't good for cloth diapers because they can cause the cloth diapers to repel. For example: A&D ointment, lanolin or zinc oxide are commonly used diaper creams. Each of these are largely helpful in treating rash because you coat it on the baby and it...

soft greasy hand soap, ok bars?

Thanks for replying! That makes a lot of sense about the size of the mold. I had presumed the opposite: that the log would harden more slowly than the small molds. I'm relieved to hear that it is the opposite. I will let them sit longer. I'm also relieved to hear it can cure in less time...

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

I'm sorry, I had no idea I wasn't supposed to do that.... Incidentally I did search regarding cloth diaper safe creams and I only found a few threads that discussed it. Most of them included ingredients that are not safe with cloth diapers so I thought I'd ask again.

    baby balm/ diaper cream?

Anyone want to share their favorite recipes? I cloth diaper and am always looking for other diaper balms that are safe with cloth. So far I've been basically infusing coconut oil with herbs that are good for the skin. Whats your favorite recipe?

soft greasy hand soap, ok bars?

Thanks for replying so fast! The recipe says to cure a "few" months... but it looks like a few more than I was thinking! Off to try another recipe this weekend in addition then!

soft greasy hand soap, ok bars?

Hey folks, I'm fairly new to Cold press soap making.. new to soap making altogether. I took a class in goat milk soap making and ended up doing my first unassisted cold press bar this weekend. I didn't do goat milk, just a basic olive oil/ castor oil bar. I just took the soap from the mold...

    Hello!

Hello folks! Just want to introduce myself. I'm a SAHM, previously museum professional, who is just entering the world of soap making. I'm only doing cold press for now but its so fun I'm keen to explore other mediums. Can't wait to get started on the boards!
