    SMP3 Soapmaking Software Program Question

Does anyone else love the SMP software program except when it comes to filing USA year-end Tax returns for Schedule C? I find it difficult to align the software's line up to easily fill out schedule C for USA Income tax returns.

After 13 years of soaping my main sewer line is plugged and the plumber is on his way!!!

After 13 years of soaping my main sewer line is plugged and plumber is here! I'm positive it's due to my washing out my pot and utensils after making a batch in order to make another batch, rather than waiting until the next day 😣 Wondering if anyone else has experienced this situation too...

My First Time Using Melt & Pour

Thank-You for your response! I did turn the Dehumidifier on and moved it right in front of the soap shelve and this helped them to dry nicely. I did wrap one bar immediately after cutting but it just became wetter and stickier. I removed the wrapper and it dried up nicely with the...

I just cut my first M & P soap bars and they feel rather sticky! :-( Is this common? I used Stephenson SLS Free Crystal Soap Base. Any input & suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TY

What soapy thing have you done today?

No Lard but very happy to say the bars are not cracking this time although it appeared like there were crack lines but they are good :)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Today I checked in on my curing Solesife Soap German salt bar and once again Disappointed!! It was my favorite recipe for customers & myself but suddenly the past 3 batches have cracked, and this batch is sticky, and I see it will be cracking too :-( I have no idea what's going on, but I'll...

What soapy mistake have you made today?

I made a 4 color soap today and as usual, I ended up spooning, not pouring into mold. 90% of my swirls end up thickening to the point where I am glopping the seized soap into mold. They always come out fine, but I'd love to experience pouring into mold more than 10% whenever I swirl! I even...

    Organizing and storage

Is it best to store butters in the fridge? I read somewhere that keeping them in the fridge compromises the quality. Anybody have more info on this topic? TY

    Thoughts on Soap Maker Software

soapmaker Pro 3 I just purchased it online and I DID NOT receive the immediate download link as advertised on the website...now I am questioning whether it is a legit site, but I guess it is if you many of the forum members have purchased it...perhaps I should cancel since I paid and received...

Pomace Oil vs. Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

I am considering switching from Extra Virgin Olive Oil to Pumace Oil which is a less filtered Olive Oil and used for soap making. Please comment if you've switched or are currently using the pumace oil. It is less costly then Virgin Olive Oil which is why I'm considering the switch.

    Room Temp Method

Has anyone tried making soap by the room temp method? It is where rather than heating the oils you simply pour the lye solution into the palm and coconut oils and allow the lye to melt them then add the olive oil. Just wondering if the final product is as good.

    HELP...can't figure out the problem!

Thank-you for your responses, greatly appreciated. I too use honey from my friends who are beekeepers and mead makers, but when they are out of it I use store bought honey...

    HELP...can't figure out the problem!

You know, I have thought of that so I've been heating the honey along with the beeswax in the double boiler. Since it doesn't happen all the time, I will have to see what happens to the current batches. Do you use honey? I only use 1 oz. per 5 lb batch of soap.

    HELP...can't figure out the problem!

Along with water & lye my oils are olive, palm coconut shea or castor also, beeswax, honey and essential oil. I've been using the same recipe for years.

    HELP...can't figure out the problem!

I've noticed every now and then I get batches of perfect soap that end up with crunchy white specs that are a bit scratchy. Now, these are NOT made to be exfoliate bars. They all have palm, coconut and olive oil and either shea or castor oil, but I've noticed an occasional lip balm also turns...
