I made my first batch!! With cut pictures added.

Here is a picture of it cut. It's very pretty actually. And here is a REALLY bad picture of my third batch (2nd batch is not worth taking pictures of). This is the batch that didn't gel and it is a really nice creamy color.

Help with a recipe please!! I wish I were a scientist...

Hey guys, I am trying to formulate a recipe using the oils I have at the moment. I have to wait for payday to buy anything else! Yes, I am a junkie already! Here is what I came up with using the Soapcalc.com calculator that Faithy so helpingly (is that a word?) pointed out to me...

    Oregon Trail Order

Hey, I am just about to put in an order with Oregon Trail again. Even though it takes forever for shipping I am in love with their oils (at least the ones I have so far) so it's definately worth the wait to me. Here is my list. Have any of these caused problems in CP for any of you? I...

    Question about Coconut Oil Soap

I have only done 3 batches of CP but two of them I used coconut milk as half of my liquid. I added the coconut milk to my oils though and mixed the lye in the other half that was water.

    First batch of CP

Hey, whatever works, right?? Ha Ha! It's funny, I never even considered adding my water and lye amounts into my total for some reason. It just shows how scatter brained I am!

    First batch of CP

I didn't melt my oils, I just whipped them at room temperature. I did the RTCP method and it works awesome! I made my lye solution early and let it sit for about an hour, maybe a little less. While it was cooling I measured all of my other ingredients and whipped my oils. Lane, I...

    3rd batch

Ha Ha!! I do! To be honest with you I have to borrow my BF's camera for that because mine is really cheap and takes horrid pictures! I will make him bring it over tonight! I still have to take cut pictures of my first batch too! It's not so exciting to look at, just your basic cream colored...

    First batch of CP

From what little knowledge I have.... yes on both. But don't be surprised if someone has a different answer. I have only made three batches. Ha Ha!!! I use a 1lb mold and use 16 oz of oils. Multiply 16 by 4 and you get 64. I have added everything at trace and have had no problems!

    3rd batch

I just made my 3rd batch last night. I scented it with Geranuim, Patchouli, and Lavender EO's. Ok Ok... I did add a couple of drops of clary sage at the end just because! But this morning it smells VERY perfumy. Has anyone used this combo before and does it end up smelling nice? I was...

Motherhues, the mold is great. It makes 5 perfect 1" bars! And it is so cute! When I opened it on Christmas my Daughter immediately wanted to use it as a barn for her mini horses! But I said "no way"!! This is MINE!!! Ha Ha!!

    Brand lye?

It should say 100% Sodium Hydroxide. I wouldn't use it unless it states that. Maybe someone here knows for sure about the Zep brand and can help you out better!!

I made my first batch!! With cut pictures added.

I made my first batch of soap this weekend, thanks Faithy!! I used coconut milk for half of my liquid and fragrance oil at 5%. I used Oregon Trails "Brown Sugar" so it has a really light sugary scent! Thank you everyone for all of your help! Paul, your mold rocks! My boyfriend knew I was...
