    Lavender and Peppermint eo blend.

Hello all, Need some help with blending Lavender and peppermint eo for cold process soap. Anyone have any idea/ experience how many parts should I divide them? I have read about 3:1, and some do 4:1. Both are top notes and the peppermint seems to over power the Lavender... :-?

    Looked like it riced?

Thank you Carolyn and DeeAnna. I just keep having different issues occurring when making batches of gm soap, pooling liquid, oily liquid at the sides when unmoulding, and this time, the rice looking thing when it's cut.... They all looked fine when cut though. No oil leaking from inside. Just...

    Looked like it riced?

Hi all, I hope the picture is clear enough to tell. This soap looked weird, like it riced, just a little bit, during saponification and it only happened in the middle part of the soap block. The bottom piece is the end piece which is nice and smooth. Top piece seems to have some speckle/ riced...

Yellowish liquid on top of saponified soap

I didn't know they can have a honey smell that comes naturally from the goat's milk! May have to give it a try:) I blotted off the sweat and it's looking good now. Thank you all for all the feedback. Really appreciate that! :)

Yellowish liquid on top of saponified soap

It was made cold processed. Recipe- olive oil 35%, coconut oil 30%, Palm oil 15%, Sunflower oil 10%, Shea butter 5% and castor oil 5%. I used French lavender eo and soap at about 95F, super fat 6% and lye concentration was at 33% (using frozen goat's milk). It set up nicely, did not go through...

Yellowish liquid on top of saponified soap

Hi all, Has anyone experienced this yellowish pool of liquid on the top of soap? I have left it there for 3 days and it doesn't absorb back. Would like to hear opinions? The humidity here is pretty high and this batch is made using frozen goat's milk. Thanks!

Oh noes! Forgot to mix one of my oil!

I am thinking to wait a day or two and do the zap test. I missed out 30% of the oil. Superfat at 6%

Oh noes! Forgot to mix one of my oil!

Hello all~ Yea, it's one of those days...I forgot to add one of my coconut oil into the mixture and realized it when the soap was already in the mould. As the soap was still 'pudding-like', what I did to try to save it was pouring it back in the pot and add the missing oil and blended it...

    Essential oil of certain brand..

Thank u for the list! However, I wouldn't be able to get eo from the U.S. or UK as they would not ship most of them and shipping fees would be very expensive. My other sources are to get them from Australia. When they go on sale I could get them at au$8 for 200ml which is very very cheap...

Hello all, has anyone tried using Thursday Plantation eo- tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender and rose hip oil in your soap? Are they suitable for soap making? I have heard that they are very strong, if so, how much to add ppo?

Pool of liquid and yellow liquid on soap

Hello all, When I was ready to unmould the batch of soap I made last night, I found a tiny pool of liquid at a corner of the soap. Just that one pool of the entire block. As I unmould it I found yellow liquid at the bottom of the block. What I did wrong was I forgot to put in my yogurt...
