Is it possible to make nice soap with butter, and I am wondering how it would come out. Anybody tried it?

How do you clean up after HP soap making? The crock pot, just wash it in the sink and dry it - i guess? How do you clean the lye/water container? Do you use vinegar or something like that, or do you just wash it in the sink as well??? Please help, I just finished my first soap :)

I am wondering if I should buy PH 1-14 testers to test my soap ? How do you guys know that the soap is ready and safe for use in CP? HP? I saw that some people are touching it with tongue in hot process to see if its battery like, I am really not into that :) what do you do?

So how do you tell if the soap is ready to use? how do you test it? do you just test it on your skin?

Does anybody know if you can use foil trays as a mold for CP/HP soap. Should I line it with something? Is wax paper ok? It would be great, because they are cheap, so you can just throw away after you are done every time. :)

I am just starting out in making soaps. The hot process really apeals to me, because you don't have to wait for weeks to use the soap. I need some advices on how to do it, and a simple recipe for beginning. Can I use a electric slow cooker for this? I will be very thankful for any suggestions :)
