    Strawberry cheesecake

Basically, mechanical retention, indents on the base (hence the wavy pattern you can see under the m&p) Also, I poured it while the soap was still warm, so hopefully we will get some adhesion... I tryied out a small piece, and it seems to be clinging in there all right. Still, when the base...

    Strawberry cheesecake

Smells just like the real thing! With poppy seeds for exfoliating effect. Because I am trying to avoid the use of TiO2 it´s not as white as I would like, but hopefully it will get better as the cure progresses. The top layer is M&P, the base is olive and coconut.[/img]

    Mozambique orphanage

Well, that seems a great idea, although I do not know what the shipping cost may be... and there is also the customs issue, but since the scraps have no commercial value, that may be not a problem. My sister is going to Africa on the 7th August, so the clock is ticking, but she will be back...

    Mozambique orphanage

Thank you all, as a matter of fact I am not doing much, it´s just a little time and effort I am getting in to this, the real hero :) is my sister, she is working with a non-profit organization from Italy that is trying to help in re-organizing the educational system in Mozambique, and it was...

Wow, thanks. You all very kind, you make me feel really welcome. But when I see other people´s soap in the forum, I always think : "well, this is really beautiful soap! I wonder how they did it..." I think there are lots of talented people in here, and the fact that some of those people...

    Coconut milk

Thanks, I will post photos (at least, if it comes out ok :) ) You use the coconut milk to make the lye solution, or do you add it at trace (like an additive)? And what about the fat on the milk, do you have any way to calculate it and add up lye to saponify it , or do you just ignore it...

    Gelling Milk Soap ??

wow, you are the right guy to tell me how it works with coconut milk! When I saw your post, "gelling milk soap" I thought it was regular milk... so I posted my own, about coconut ... well, I am going to try it for the first time, so... could you give me some clues? do you make the lye...

    Coconut milk

I am going to make a coconut-scented soap with grated coconut sprinkled on top, and thought that it may be an interesting idea to add some coconut milk. Has anyone tryed this?

    Mozambique orphanage

Well, maybe this won´t fit this forum, bur I do believe it is an interesting project, so...here it is. The soap in this photo is one of 400 that we are sending to an orphanage in Mozambique. Most of these orphans lost their parents to AIDS  The children over there have great needs, from...

Yes, you have to look out for additives, we have both types on the supermarket : 99% pure NaOH or with some blue crystals in it (to tell the truth, I believe those are just so that they can sell it for 4, 5 € - but that's just me...) gut abend (I hope I got it right) :D

Wow! 8€ per Kg??? I thought it was expensive when I bought lye over here at the supermarket for 2€ ! And yes, even at 2 € it is expensive. I got in touch with this company that sells bulk chemical products for the industry and they are selling it 99% pure for 1 € / Kg. The problem...

    Nearly-cubic soap

Thanks everybody. The colour clays are really wonderful, are´t they?? Krissy - They are not really all that big, 4x4x5 Centimeters is quite a reasonable size, I think... but anyway I was aiming for a weight of about 100 grams wich is the "standard" weight for a soap over here, and since I...

    Nearly-cubic soap

Thank you! Well, one is rose and the other is peach. I like to go light on the fragrance, so the smell is not too intense... I think that if the scent is really strong, in won´t feel like a genuine handmade product. Don´t even ask me why...
