Thank you SO much for the kind words. The soap has exploded for us and has turned into a really great business. We are in the process of trying to secure a much larger farm that will allow us to do our dairy operation and hopefully start selling cheese soon! All very exciting.

Thanks so much for recommending the other vendor. I really hate the wait time with ordering from China!! lol I will say that the packaging has been such a massive success, we have sold hundreds of bars already. heartsong, thanks for visiting the website!! We really love our farm, and as of...

My name is Aden, Jon is actually my husband, and I do much of the posting at GayGourmet. So glad you checked it out and love it! That grilled pizza is phenomenal!

    Water Discounting Advice?

Thank you very much for the info. I am going to stick with what I was originally doing and test, test, test with proper stamping times and such. I did find a batch I did 2 months ago that was hidden away. It was half OO, and half Coconut oil. I used it today and wow was it really awesome soap...

    Water Discounting Advice?

Your 2 cents is valuable information to me. We have already decided to stick with a full cure time as it's important for us to have a quality product for the long time. I guess when we are talking about water, I will tell you that I use soapcalc. The "water as % of oils" is what I was...

Soapcalc is what we use, and it's been wonderful!! You are right about the goats milk, however, I have found a way of adding the lye slowly, frozen, over the course of 15 minutes to prevent it from turning the bar orange. I really dislike the orange bar!!

DeeAnn, I am glad you brought up trace.. My trace happens ridiculously fast, and this was with me using 35/38% water. You say full water is 27-28%, so that means I have probably been using more than I should which is why my soaps are a little too wet for my liking, making stamping take longer.

Thanks everybody! I actually bought both stamps from artists through Etsy. Shipped all the way from China. I am pretty sure Brambleberry outsources all their stamps to china so it's much cheaper to buy it directly from them and just wait a little while.

Thank you all again for such overwhelming wonderful advice! I am not dead set on my recipe yet as I really am focusing on keeping it simple. I should note that I am using olive oil pomace but I doubt that it matters. Emma, I am using individual square silicone molds, they do not gel and I...

I wanted to share with everyone the design that we are pretty sure we are settling on for our soaps. Check it out and let me know what you think:

    Water Discounting Advice?

Great advice everybody! I may be willing to add more coconut oil and less olive oil to help it speed up a little bit. I guess it will all come down to testing and customer comments. I absolutely do not want to sacrifice quality just to make a sale, and it will take some more trial and error...

    Water Discounting Advice?

Our problem is supply and demand. People want the soap right now, and we need to find a way to get it to cure faster so we can meet the demand. We have been using it at 2 weeks old and it feels wonderful and so far everybody we have given samples to think it's great also. What qualities...

    Water Discounting Advice?

Hello everyone! We took all the wonderful advice from everybody here and ordered some major bulk supplies from Liberty Natural and are getting ready to make a ton of soap but need the bars to be ready faster, and harder. We have tried the salt method to make a harder bar, but were told that...

LadyM, thank you so much for the advice. It's funny because I had been using some bergaptene free bergamot from bulkapothecary and noticed that the scent was fading. What oils would you recommend to help bring out the bergamot and keep it from fleeting? I don't plan on using only 1/2 oz per 3lb...

Thank you both for the amazing links!! This forum has surprised me with the wonderful positive reinforcement. I am glad to have finally joined!! Our goal is to offer a simple line of soaps, leaning to the natural side. We only want to carry between 5 - 10 scents, and we want them to be...

Amybell, they are SO awesome. I was just shocked at how well they worked, and the price is even better!

You are right. Raw milk is WAY too risky, and I would never, ever sell it even if it were legal. My choice to drink it daily is a risk I take based off of the care I give my animals, and the sanitary means with which I milk them. Raw milk cheeses are a complete different story. If the cheese is...

I completely agree with you!! I think it's insanity that they would prefer that we all keep eating poison, but then want to regulate the healthy things that are REAL. lol. I drink raw milk fresh from our goats every day and it's amazing. It's funny. I live in RI, and if I wanted to, I could...
