    Microwave- and pouring-friendly bows suggestions?

Microwave- and pouring-friendly bowls suggestions? I'm hoping people can chime in with their favorite mixing vessel for making moderate size batches (3 to 5 lb oil) of soap. Ideally, I want to find something that is: microwave safe for melting oils easy to hold with a solidly attached...

What soapy thing have you done today?

    Best Printer for Labels

I ended up getting an HP Laser Jet Pro 200. The water proof labels for inkjet just weren't water proof enough.

    Synthetic fragrance oil

Like everyone else, I have had different results from different companies and fragrances. This company's green tea in nice, for rose I go over there, etc. Not sure if any of my experiences would help, since you're overseas.

    Insights on facial bar soap

You might try a 100% olive (castile) bar. They're very mild, and the oil stripping qualities aren't overwhelming the way coconut can be. You might also consider adding additional glycerin for some extra humectant love.

    Latex Allergies and oils

One more bit of data for the pile. My wife and daughter are both allergic to latex. One has a cross-reactivity to bananas and the other has no cross-reactivity. Neither have issue with mangoes, avocado, or shea. So it's definitely not cut-and-dried.

    Tips for Detailed Silicone Molds?

I have had some issues with really intricate detail while using a soap with a significant percentage (35%) of olive oil. It just never wanted to solidify enough to come out clean. The same mold with a lard/coconut/castor formula released beautifully. I think thin trace is useful because it...

The hows and whys of changing the lye concentration of your soap

Very nice. I always like having more information about the underpinnings of why we do things. Helps when you run into a new situation and you have to figure it out on your own.

My new 1 pound T&S mold

I was curious so I poked around a bit. Looks like ABS plastics can be used in sustained conditions of up to 80C/176F, so the heat of soap making shouldn't be a problem.

My new 1 pound T&S mold

I was just thinking that every hobby or interest I delve into to a geeky degree ends up with LEGO somewhere. Role playing games = LEGO people for miniature, or block scenery. Even LEGO dice rollers Traditional shaving = LEGO brush and razor stands Now LEGO soap forms. Guess I should keep my...

    Please...tell me it will morph!

Considering I have an unfortunate tendency to forgot to add one thing or another when doing cold process, this is probably a good idea. I think the "get everything done before it gets too thick" rush gets to me. Edit: Do you still make a slurry w/ your micas and such before mixing? Or is it...

Who knows, you may have just accidentally invented the "butterfly wing swirl" or something. :)

For CP I've been mixing them into a bit of the oil mixture, then stirring them in at light trace.

My new 1 pound T&S mold

Instead of building it and taking it apart all the time, could you just take the base off and push the soap out?

    Please...tell me it will morph!

I used a different, lavender purple without thinking about the fact that the soap in question came out slightly yellow. Once I was done it looked sort of a sickly gray. The Soap of the Living Dead!
