    Butter-only soap?

Sorry for splitting the threads; I had figured the other thread was old enough that I should make a new thread, but I can see in retrospect that it makes things a little confusing! Will keep that in mind for the future. So far I have never had anaphylaxis. I think one reason I am being...

    Butter-only soap?

Thanks for all the ideas! Sounds like this may be ill-advised but it sounds like I could at least make soap I react to less by adding a smaller amount of liquid oil than would be in most soap. I've never actually made any soap before so I'm not going to attempt to add any color for a while but...

    Butter-only soap?

I'm wondering if you can actually make soap using butters and no liquid-at-room-temperature oils, and if so, which would be the best candidates. I will take anything that cleans well enough to deal with germs. Preferably it would lather a little and not completely fall apart, but I really just...

    Clay Suppliers Shipping to Maryland?

Thanks! Unfortunately, I react to the bentonite clay (who knew you could react to clay?) but it was quite effective! The French green clay is a little harder to work with but works surprisingly well. I was shocked. I didn't think it would work!

    Dead Sea Clay/Mud

I just happened to be looking at clay on Brambleberry and when someone asked if this was dead sea clay, they were asked to send an email. Often sea clay is French green clay but this appears to be some sort of kaolin clay. Let us know if you find anything!

    Clay Suppliers Shipping to Maryland?

I've given up for now on actually making soap pending an appointment with my allergist (the only oil/fat I've found that I don't react to is shea butter. I'm hoping I can increase my antihistamines...), but I've found French green clay works weirdly well with my hair. In the original version...

    Hi!

I reacted to the rice bran oil and macadamia nut oil! Do any of the hard butters work well? It seems like that might go better. I've never even heard of some of these so glad there are a few more possibilities! I made some shampoo with soapwort and it kind of worked (putting it in a...

    Hi!

Thanks! Actually I have that and haven't tried it yet because I was having trouble getting the bottle open... I'll work on that. Forgot about the soy oil. Can't do that one either! Shea is okay somehow. Mango seed butter isn't. Need to try cocoa butter. Forgot to mention I react to the...

    Hi!

Hi! My name is Charlotte and I just joined this forum. I've never actually made soap before, although I've made shampoo, which is kind of fun. I never planned on making my own soap but I've been essentially forced into it because of a health condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. In...
