    I made a mistake...

Thank you DWin, I should have thought about it, it's a good point to consider in case similar thing happens in the future, I hope it's the last time I have to deal with re-batching.

    Star San calculation

Thank you atiz, I hope this extra 0.2 gallon will compensate for the extra time the containers were in the concentrated solution. I kept them more than 10 min:)

    Star San calculation

I have received my shipment and made my first solution for my small containers, I will be appreciated if someone else checks my calculation one more time. I diluted 1 oz. of Star San in 8 lb. of tap water instead of 40 lb. and immersed my small containers in there, so in order to fix it I took...

    I made a mistake...

Thank you atiz. I think the long time the soap was exposed to the heat when I was trying to re-melt it has helped with the extra amount of lye. I am already re-batching.

    I made a mistake...

you are right, I washed my hands with it, it's actually soap but very hard. It should be lye heavy as well. I would really love if I can do something about it.

    I made a mistake...

They are not melting, they are becoming much thicker and harder every time I try to re-melt them. I didn't sb while melting the oils, a lot of sb happened earlier when I was thinking that I had added the lye.

    I made a mistake...

I have been having hard time melting the oils, maybe FO, mica and too much stick blending are the culprit. I have used Bain-Marie on the stove and in the oven for long time, the oils are becoming thicker Any suggestions?

    I made a mistake...

Almost a year ago, I had my first 7 lb. batch , it was my biggest one. I had to cut it and use it in confetti soap, I still have plenty of it. I didn't make any more batches of that size until now:)

    I made a mistake...

Thank you Isg. Actually I did that already right after posting the question, I got 5.5 , most likely I didn't add the lye it's not the new FO I am testing. I wonder if I can just add the lye ?

    I made a mistake...

I decided to do my small experimenting batches all at one time to save time next week to catch up with other things. I prepared my lye solution in a big batch to work on all of them one by one to try new FO and colorants. One of the batches didn't reach a trace, it took so long stick blending...

    Best Practices to Sterlize Containers

I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. I'll go over the links, it's good to know. I remember going through lotion crafter's resources in the past but didn't go deep into it as my understanding that it's for cosmetics manufacturing facilities not for me. Thank you earlene.

    Ugh soap gremlins

Is there any pencil line that may cause the batch to separate? Looks nice.

    Best Practices to Sterlize Containers

Thank you earlene, I didn't know that there is no regulations in Cosmetic Industry when it comes to sanitation or sterilization methods, which is actually sad. All I am looking for is a good practice to help me have my products safe to use in case I like to give them to someone to try...

    Best Practices to Sterlize Containers

I am going to order the star san, thank you for the recommendation. You are right sanitizing is not sterilizing, I'll edit the post. Thank you again. Look like I don't have the option for editing my post, so I'll leave it.

    Best Practices to Sterlize Containers

I think this is what I need, maybe airdrying them afterwards. Thank you IrishLass, I appreciate that.

    Best Practices to Sterlize Containers

Even though I am more toward covering some expenses than going for official business, I believe it's important to check rules and regulations. Yes, I live in US, thank you for the links you provided, I'll look them up.
