I have had soap change colour on the outside like that as a reaction to the air but after curing, became entirely uniform and def wasn't rancid/dos.
Does it smell? Rancid soap stinks. If you're uncertain, I'd suggest hanging on to it for a bit and seeing what it does along the cure. Also you could try rebatching? Would be interesting to see what happens after the cook!
